You are nothing more than a lesson I need to learn from.
Words are just words if not followed by action.
I am all for cracking down on inappropriate digital behaviour. Too often the connected world is an excuse for some coward hiding behind a keyboard to bully someone else.
Jake - “Edgy…” I keep hearing that word from my clients. Everyone wants “edgy.” What is it?
Val - “Edgy” is going right up to the edge of the cliff and being able to see all the way down, and dancing anyway.
Jake - What the hell does that mean?
Don’t ever say you’re not capable of doing something amazing or something horrible. You just need the right time and the right place.
Tom - Hey, how about asking them this: “If Verona had had metal detectors, would Mercutio be alive today?”
Daria - If he were, he’d be about 400 years old.
Tom - That’s why they’ll all get it wrong. Trick question, yeah!

A chandelier made from petri dishes that actually grows bacteria…
Bacterioptica breaks from design norms, a light fixture outfitted with petri dishes. Designed to be adaptive, not only in its form and mechanics, but more importantly, in the way it evolves. Bacterioptica is not your typical chandelier, just as no family is a typical unit of interactions. Its on/off switch does not control it. Bacterioptica is alive. It grows. It is itself a household organism. It is living and breathing the same air and bacteria we are.
